1080i output supported on the PSTV natively and on the Vita with Sharpscale
MKVs do NOT work. If you want to preserve subtitles with MKVs I recommend using Handbrake to convert them to MP4 with Timed Text Subtitles. Direct FFMPEG will also work.
SceAvPlayer does not support 1080p video playback by default. You need to patch the module in order to do so. That's what ReAvPlayer is for.
I get not being able to play MKVs, that's a daunting task for how low-power the Vita is. If I want to watch anime on my Vita, though, I'm not trying to re-encode literally all of my episodes to MP4 just to bake in some subs. It would be much more convenient to have the program run a check to see if there is an SRT with the same name as the selected MP4 and load both files together. This way I won't have to re-encode all of my library that's already MP4 with no subs baked in.

Just installed this and it just goes to a black screen, no controls. Re-installed and the same issue is happening. I'm using it on a sd2vita slim model vita. 3.60 firmware if that helps.
This is the only app I've ever seen not work and I've tested a lot of homebrew. Thank you.

I'm trying to play some anime with subtitles that I've converted from ASS to SRT, but when the video (with SRT) is ran the application crashes. The videos work normally without those subtitles. So to possibly fix this, I think ASS/SSA subtitle support might be a smart thing?
